The Village Double (Duplex) C0552 by Allison Ramsey Architects

Something different to start off the new year… I was thinking about how this COVID-19 Pandemic that we’ve been living through has changed our lives (temporarily!) – many of us are staying home and working from home now more than ever. We have family members we’re unable to see due to the circumstances. But just think, what if you built a duplex? Say you’re working from home, and you have a family member who may be alone and perhaps doing the same thing. Wouldn’t it be nice to be next to each other? You could both have a work from home space as well as a living space.

This is the Village Double (Duplex) C0552 by Allison Ramsey Architects! This plan is 1,033 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for each unit. A duplex makes sense now more than ever! The exterior is sharp with a porch for one on the side of the house and the other on the front. The layout is identical except for the placement of the fireplace and where the entrance resides.

For some the downstairs bedroom could be used as an office, wouldn’t that be a treat!

The upstairs is well thought out especially with two walk in closets in the master bedrooms! The laundry being upstairs is quite convenient! The only difference that I can see is that the walk in closets in the master are a bit larger on the right hand side. Either way… perfection!

What is the use for a living room that is 13′ x 14′? There is no practical space to place furniture. Also a bathroom opposite the kitchen eating area is not very conducive to the use of either space.
