James Richards. An accomplished artist from Georgia, there is literally nothing this man can’t paint. His ability to capture the very soul of his subject is astounding. No wonder he is such a sought after instructor (workshop information below) – James’s paintings sell like hot cakes – and they reside all over the world and in some of the most distinguished of places.

James earned every bit of his success. My husband and I met him many years ago at an art walk – he was doing a demo and luckily we were there early so we watched James paint the coolest scene (cows in a field) with his own twist (cows were purple and so AWESOME!), that was a popular painting.

Not only is James a successful artist, husband, father – he is a friend to so many other artists. In later years when I worked in a gallery that sold his paintings so many people would come in and share their stories of him. Always positive, always the best of the best. He hasn’t changed a bit.

Words will never suffice – when this painting arrived we both had tears in our eyes. It really is Charlie, his very soul. Some artists have a major superpower. Their paintings can evoke memories so strong, they have the power to heal and leave you with a smile on your face. This painting, “Charlie” is a blessing and a treasure!

James Richards is an American Impressionist painter who specializes in oils. James was born and raised in rural Georgia and spent the days of his youth exploring the farms, fields and forests of his hometown.  Driven by a passionate connection with nature and a deep sense of obligation to relay his vision in the most truthful manner possible, he began painting at a very young age; by the time he was a young adult living in Athens, GA, he had already won numerous awards for his pieces.

James has spent years studying the nuances of paint and developing a keen sense of understanding and control over the medium.  He is now regarded as one of the top oil painters and instructors in the country. He considers teaching and sharing his knowledge to be his primary purpose and true calling as an artist.  He is a highly sought-after teacher around the world, conducting workshops across the US and Europe.
