…treasure to me. It was a Christmas card that my dad made in 1992. We framed it long ago, it makes me smile every single time I see it. The least (monetarily) valuable items are some of my most precious.

The sentiment is more fitting today than ever. These are trying times that we live in. So much chaos, hate and a divided country. I’m praying that this year we become a more cohesive country, letting go of the hate and bigotry. Life is so very short. To waste even one minute of it being hateful is one minute too many. Do your best to rally against the bullies. Stand up for what you believe #endhumantrafficingnow #stopthehate #weneedpeaceonearth #justsaynotobullies #weareallbiggerthanthis #wecandobetter  – Oh, how this list could go on and on… but you get the gist of it.

I also need to mention what we all know. This is a difficult time of year for so many. Loneliness, loss of family members or friends during the holidays can be overwhelming. Take time for yourself. It’s OK to be sad, but it’s also OK to be happy. Remember the good times, our memories are there for a reason. Hold on tight to the good memories and let the bad memories fade. Be there for each other. Help out a friend, neighbor or relative that you suspect may need someone to pop in and say hello. Let them know you’re on their side. If things ever seem dire, please, Please, PLEASE call (OR CHAT!!!) the Suicide Hotline. I lost a friend years ago to suicide, and what I saw his family and friends go through is/was devastating.
