Blessed Sacrament church in Charleston recently had their twin steeples restored and replaced. The steeples were lost during Hurricane Hugo in 1989. They landed on Savannah Hwy in front of the church.

I read that the new steeples are constructed out of fiberglass (instead of metal) and designed to not fall during the next hurricane. Part of the road was closed off while the steeples were installed. The entire time that we have lived in this area there have been no steeples. To see them is amazing!
