Recipe Reminder: Making BBQ Sauce (Grilled Chicken and Corn)!

Oooh! Making BBQ sauce is SO worth your time. It doesn’t take long and your house will smell divine while it’s cooking! I divide it into 1/4 or 1/3 cup increments and put in freezer bags! That works well for 2 chicken breasts.

🌸 Note: Images will be returning to email notifications soon – WordPress is working on it!

Fred is the griller in our house. I get things ready to head out to the grill, he puts food on the grill, jumps in the pool (it’s hot here!) then gets out and flips it (jumps back in pool) and then it’s ready! This is one of the things I love about summertime! He’s a great griller… he threw some corn on the grill without husks and they’re perfect and almost like they’ve been buttered. No need for butter or S&P!

I posted a recipe for the BBQ Sauce from Cooks.com (link has since been removed) that I made back in 2012. I still make the same recipe (and oh! does the house ever smell divine while it’s cooking!)

Homemade BBQ Sauce

2 tbsp. butter
1 c. water
1 c. ketchup
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard powder

Melt butter. Saute onion until soft. Add remaining 9 ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes. Makes about 2 cups of BBQ sauce.

NOTE: if you don’t have Worcestershire sauce, I’ve made it without and it’s perfectly fine!
