The Periwinkle by Joseph Fidler

The Periwinkle 2009 by dad (Joseph Fidler)

I’m sure i’ve posted this painting in years past. But to go through 13+ years of posts (the first ten years daily) seemed a bit daunting. I was thrilled to find this tucked in one of our cherished books. It’s actually a card (I’ve saved every one he’s sent).

I love how my dad is able to capture the very essence of a very special place. This was a cottage we rented back in 2009 in Port Clyde, Maine. It was called “The Periwinkle” and it was on Gardner Road. A beautiful dirt road that leads to a handful of houses on the ocean in a very wooded setting. Stunning then and I bet it’s stunning now. Last we heard this cottage was no longer for rent. Someone bought it to have as their own. (It was stunning in every way! Not fancy, but rustic and full of charm. I hope they were able to keep the charm and not biggie-size it or knock down all the character.

Check out Joe’s current work, HERE.

These were good times. Cherished memories for sure.

🌊 Until next time…
