Fall officially began Monday (9/22) and I couldn’t be more hopeful for cooler weather to come our way soon. As I write this the weather forecasters are showing possible storms headed this way soon. We continue to monitor and have a plan for food, water, etc. so we can stay in.
I took this photo a few years ago at The Swag in North Carolina. A place that is at 5,000 feet elevation (a mile!) and is truly a dream come true. From the food to the view and the furnishings. Every little detail accounted for. It’s a place to go with interesting people (many we are still in touch with years later). It’s a place to meander down the hiking trails, take group hikes (what we like to do) with the Experts in Residence (which is ever changing, but always wonderful). Some of the staff is like family. It’s always so nice to see them and to check in on them when we return.
Beauty in the mountains – nothing better. Especially in October right? Seeing the color change is a spectacular memory that we’ll cherish forever! On one of our shorter walks, the leaves were falling fast and furious and I couldn’t help but photograph them. #meandmyiphone
Nature is beautiful, isn’t it? I hope you can get out and enjoy it. #happyweekend
🍁 Until next time…

The weather experts are having a field day. This could fizzle or become a monster storm. It is wait and see.

Pretty much every hurricane we experience is the same – wait and see. I’ve learned over the years not to watch the most recent report too many days before possible landfall. Too much room for change, which is what I sincerely hope will happen here…

Fall, the best of the best. Break out the sweatshirts, polar fleece and with any luck the flannel sheets we love so much, ha ha. Cozy is such a good thing! xo
