We live on one of the prettiest streets in Charleston. A neighborhood that began in 1927. Our home was the first built on our street. A Live Oak was planted in the front yard of each home. Today, 99 years later – wow. The beauty is stunning. I’m hoping underground power will happen at some point… These trees deserve to live on! Just look at the beauty of the Spanish moss (and no, Spanish moss does not hurt the tree in any way)! We feel so blessed to have lived in such a beautiful area and in the most special house ever for this long.

I took this photo several years ago. Just look at this mesmerizing live oak tree. Its limbs reaching as if to borrow a cup of sugar from a neighboring tree. So much history. It’s astounding if you think about it. What has this tree seen and heard in its lifetime? I love the far-reaching branches, the view, and the sunlight dappling the scene nicely…

My husband and I took a ride through a few of Charleston’s beautiful cemeteries. Let me just say, you go back in time. They are old, very very old and the photo ops are amazing. YES, it would help to have a camera with you… These were taken with my phone on a cloudy day, but I think you can still see how spectacular the view is. The magnificent grand live oak trees are everywhere, it’s a beautiful place. There were several people out with big cameras taking advantage of the day… NEXT TIME I will bring a camera, sigh…
