This is a photo I took a few years ago – a stunning location on top of a mountain (5,000′ elevation) in Western North Carolina (WNC) – Waynesville specifically. The nicest staff, guests and the best food, views, and hiking in the world. Wishing we were there…

This is a photo taken at The Swag in WNC. I took this a few years ago, caught the sunrise and wow, was it spectacular! I love the warm glow from the sun in a place that is so magical. When you’re there you don’t even think about leaving the property. Once you leave it’s hard to think about anything else but coming back! It’s so nice to visit a place we can drive to vs. fly.

If you get a chance to visit in upcoming months, they’re open through December 15. If you want to visit after that date, they’ll be closed until March 7, 2025. HOWEVER, if you want to visit a first class establishment between those dates you can visit their sister property the Cataloochee Ranch in Maggie Valley. Check out their Instagram or their website (link above). wow. Wow. WOW! Looks like heaven for sure. We haven’t had a chance to visit the ranch, but it sure is enticing! The Cataloochee Ranch is more geared towards families with so many things to do. Check it out!

Until then, we will look forward to our next visit as well as support the people of WNC after the devastation that tore through the area with Hurricane Helene. There are many good charities to donate to, or pick any establishment, restaurant, shop in town and see if you can buy a gift card. Help them out during their biggest time of the year – Waynesville, NC and the surrounding areas of Asheville, etc. could use some support.
