Welcome to week 14 of Guess the Artist! I think many of you may know this one, but we’ll see. When I think it’ll be a tough one, someone will know it right away! A magnificent painting – just look at those eyes! By chance do you know who the artist was? (Note: signature has been removed in image) – didn’t want to give it away! 😉

Pictured are two cool people I have known all my life – they’re the best of the best, truly. How fortunate I am to have met them all those years ago! #blessed

We walk past a cool yucca plant each day. I don’t really notice it until it blooms and then *WOW*! I’ve taken several photos, morning, evening – but the golden light hitting on this particular occasion made it even more special. I love being on the lookout for plants other than the norm. It makes a walk more meditative, which is nice.

Do you love the mountains? Specifically the Great Smoky Mountains National Park… a place near and dear to our hearts. Where the view goes on for miles and miles. A place so peaceful and beautiful that it’s where you can take a deep breath and let your should slink down a bit… If you (or someone you know) loves the mountains – I have a great gift idea for you!

Incredible painting. The texture, the movement of the waves – I love this subject matter. Where in the world does this painting take you? A step further… by chance do you know who this artist is? This photo was taken at the Detroit Institute of Arts, the most amazing place ever! I cannot wait to go back! #guesstheartist #distinctstyle #whoisit

I took this photo the other day at a design place we were at. They have all kinds of neat things, they also have plants, and outdoor items beautifully displayed. I would love to see this in our backyard somewhere, isn’t it fabulous? It helps filter out the strong sun to keep it a little cooler on those hot days.

Are you looking for a modern home that perhaps feels large but keeps a fairly modest footprint? What’s not to love about that? Three bedrooms, a private master suite and space to get away. Not to mention the outdoor spaces! You can rotate between the different areas. Imagine sitting outside watching the sun set, or the sun rise, or whatever it may be. #wow

This is our sweet beast. Some of his antics are hilarious (I’m sure you can relate with a pet of your own) – He gets a special treat every once in a while and it’s his absolute favorite. Afterwards, he gets in between his two beds (he likes them stacked up) and roots. This is the result. Ear flipped, eyebrows going every which way. He is incredibly happy.

Can you guess the artist? This is the 13th installment of “Guess the Artist” from the Detroit Institute of Arts. What fun. I’m amazed how some of you guess the names of the featured artist. No easy task. Some of these paintings are quite old. Remember, the answer is below… so when you can’t guess any longer go ahead and take a peek! Magnificent, stormy painting – so much drama!

A friend has a koi pond with water lilies and it is spectacular! We fed the fish for a few days (fishsitting) and each day I would snap a photo of the blooms, they were ever-changing! Just imagine this scene, the vibrant green of the lily pad, the beautiful lavender of the bloom and the bright orange koi swimming around happily. #asitetobehold

I love the tudor style peaks in this plan, the high pitched roof and the use of brick. The dormers are a nice touch with windows that open out (would remind me of a Maine cottage we stayed at) – absolutely a delight! On the right side of the house is the garage – I love that you enter from the side vs. looking straight at garage doors. Nothing wrong with garage doors, but if I had my choice… this would be a preference.

We had an extremely hot and humid summer here in Charleston, SC this year (as did much of the country). So after Tropical Storm Lee blew through the area we were left with nicer temps and less humidity. After avoiding the stove/oven for months on end, we’re putting it to good use while we can. Time for this (quick) Green Chicken Chili. It will quickly become a favorite. One night we have baked chicken (and bake extra) and then in the next day or so we make the Green Chicken Chili. Tasty!

Whimsy. This painting is packed with it. Joyful colors, people floating, a heart, an arrow about to pierce the heart, random people – what does this all mean? Oh, I just noticed something else that’s very cool! But try to guess the artist first. Answer is below. #giveitatry

Last month we headed out for a nice lunch and a drive. We haven’t done that in a while and it was a beautiful (but very hot) day. The clouds in the sky were MAGNIFICENT! I love the big, billowy clouds and their reflection in the water – stunning! We heard about a great place for lunch too, it was fabulous!!

This home has such nice lines and exudes elegance. This isn’t a large home, but it’s feels like it is. I love the details that make it appear as if it was built long ago. I happen to adore a porch without spindles. It’s not always possible if you’re several steps up – but this is a great height for no railings! Take a peek below at the Kadair E plan, with links to C3’s website and social media.
