We were in Summerville, SC the other day and on the way back to the car I noticed these STUNNING pink blooms. I had to make a quick detour to check them out and to admire the beauty (and of course to take a few photos!) – This is so beautiful. The flowers were large and various colors of pink, do you know what this is?
We have a neighborhood Barr Owl that gets around. He’s busy and always on watch. He demands presence – he isn’t the sweet little “hootie” that we rescued years ago and rushed to the Birds of Prey to save after we found him in our backyard leaning against the fence. This guy is a bit more territorial…
OH! The drama, right? Doesn’t this remind you of a Chinese Lantern, but with a bit more color? It’s so vibrant against the green, isn’t it? I took this photo while out and about in Mount Pleasant, SC – at a cool design shop filled with beautiful things… including plants, flowers, urns, and more!
It’s been a doozy of a week. Tropical Storm Debby definitely has overstayed her (un)welcome! The stress of these weather events (around the country, not just Charleston SC) takes their toll for sure. I’m writing this on Wednesday where it is still raining and the threat that Debby will make landfall somewhere near Charleston is a possibility.
I applaud those who can come up with an excellent sandwich (other than PB&J, cheese and lettuce, bologna & muenster, etc.) Something a bit different yet adds a touch of WOW. This mighty little sandwich was a delight. It was the tastiest blend of flavors, some expected and some unexpected. Absolute perfection and available nearby!
What a fabulous view, right? I took this photo at Crosby’s Seafood near Folly Beach (SC) when we stopped to pick up some shrimp for the week. It’s not far from the house and the view is out of this world. And… if you’re hungry the food truck is delish!
Stunning, right? We always stop for shrimp at Crosby’s Seafood right before you get to Folly Beach (Charleston, SC). We run in, pick up our shrimp, then I have to run out and get a photo or two. There is literally ALWAYS something breathtaking to look at.
Y’all are familiar with the song “Signs, signs, everywhere a sign”. 🎶 These cardinals are quick around here. Spot one, grab your phone and whoosh, off they go! What a blessing. Isn’t this the happiest little guy sitting on a gate? #asign
When walking, I’m a firm believer of keeping an eye toward the sky. I see the most beautiful things that way. On a casual walk at dusk – I stopped and looked up into the beautiful oak trees that we have in this area.
Candied Brussels Sprouts, Potato Croquettes and Wild Caught Dill Salmon (Cooked on a Cedar Plank)
I’ve tried to be a sport in the past. I WANT to like salmon, it’s good for you, yayaya… BUT, it’s strong taste about did me in each time. We would go out to eat and my husband would have me try a bite of his… #itsanogo Then, one day we were talking with a neighbor (thank you CW) who had been to a nearby restaurant. She said she always orders the salmon. I thought, ugh. And then…
The vast skyline is pretty, isn’t it? I love the dark of the landscape against the colors in the sky. Snapped this on the way home one evening (as a passenger in the car, not the driver) 😉 Magnificent, isn’t it? There is the round landmark hotel in the distance.
Beautiful, right? There is nothing like walking around Charleston, SC… its just so pretty all the time! The window boxes are over the top gorgeous! It really makes a statement, doesn’t it? I guarantee you that someone is busy keeping that creeping fig trimmed so perfectly this time of year. I remember when we had it on our house. It was great, made the house look like an English cottage, but Fred had to get the ladder and go around the house twice a WEEK with scissors… then the bee’s got bad and we decided to take it off the house. Whew!
Have a wonderful weekend!! Catch you back here tomorrow!
