My phone tends to take photos on occasion – and I thought this was a good one, it captured a nice sunset – good job! I saved this photo because it’s a good reminder of how quickly life goes by. There are so many things to be stressed about (many are inconsequential) – but this is a gentle wake up call to be thankful for what you have and feel blessed that you have it. Isn’t this is a good looking plan? It’s not just a pretty face – it’s wonderful on the inside and the outside. I love the wraparound porch! This is a great plan to fit in an established neighborhood and blend in like it’s been there for decades. I would be thrilled both inside and outside in these wonderful spaces.

Can you guess the artist? This might be an easy one for some of you. Another gorgeous painting I snapped a photo of with my phone - on display at the Detroit Institute of Arts! I highly recommend visiting – wear comfy shoes – no need to pack a lunch they have great eating places within the museum. So smart. They even have these cool stools that fold if you get tired and need to sit a minute. We walked for hours and hours. Had the best time. #cantwaittogoback

Doesn’t this house have a grand feel to it? The painted brick looks like it was built many, many years ago – yet freshened up and raring to go. This is a possibility for infill in an existing older neighborhood with similar style homes. Not that homes have to be exact, but their size and scale matters – just so it blends nicely with the existing homes.

A nice hot bowl of chili on a cold winter day. Is there anything better? It warms your innards, makes the house smell wonderful all for very little work (if you ask me)! And, you have leftovers – #winwin I searched high and low for a recipe with normal ingredients, not a packet of anything or a can of beans in a seasoned sauce. I found one, changed it very little and I think you’ll love it.

Our kitchen sink has two windows which I love. It makes doing dishes more pleasant when you have a view. But something was missing, and I knew just what it was! I plucked these flowers out of a bouquet that Fred had given me, strikingly beautiful. When they were towards the end of their lives, I took them out of the water, wrapped with pretty string and hung upside down. Now they’re gorgeous dried flowers!

Well, this image fits this week. It’s crazy, I’m not sure how it happened or what it’s of or even when it was taken. My phone takes its own photos. The storms that are happening throughout the country are unbelievable. The wind that we had in Charleston the other night that was part of this wild storm moving up the coast was crazy! Our live oak trees normally don’t move that much – but they were swinging like crazy (as was the line to our power and cable). Our power blinked…

Can you imagine being situated on a gorgeous lot overlooking the water. The serenity and stunning views you would have out of almost every room in this house! Downstairs is a masterpiece and upstairs is a brilliant use of space, an expansive loft area with storage. Who couldn’t use that?
