Okay. Extreme heat is insane. But extreme heat mixed with high humidity (and a crazy high dew point) is dangerous. Drink lots of water. Stay in the shade if you have to be outside, and don’t overdo it! Personally, I’m taking myself back to a cooler time in the mountains (even though I am in Charleston) if only via a photo, it will help a little.

This was an unexpected surprise as we headed over the bridge to Mount Pleasant, SC. We were out early the other morning while running errands. There was such a beautiful color across the horizon and then *poof* the sun appeared and quickly rose. In the span of the bridge we saw it rise considerably. What an awesome way to put things into perspective. Busy days and times are among many of us – take a moment to absorb the quiet and any peaceful scene you may encounter.

I took this photo last year when I took a trip home to see my family… they have the most amazing sunrises that reflect against the river. I am the crazy fool out in the cold with my camera snapping photos like a crazy person… PJ’s on… and whoever’s shoes are by the door… off I go. I cannot NOT take a photo. It’s not in me. When I see something beautiful that catches my eye SNAP* SNAP… there are some beautiful sunrises/sunsets in this part of the world! Wishing you a beautiful sunrise or sunset!

I know “Red sky in the morning – sailors take warning, red sky at night – sailors delight” but what is a pink sky? Beauty! That’s what! This photo was taken several years ago when we spent Thanksgiving at Amelia Island in Florida. The weather was perfect, the meals were to die for, the accommodations… HEAVEN and the sunrise on the beach each morning… WORTH. GETTING. UP. FOR! You can see the silhouette of the big Christmas tree to the right, can you believe that’s just around the corner?! Eek!
