Steamy photo taken at 6AM. Summer is steamy as can be here in Charleston, SC – but also areas that aren’t typically steamy. So much heat and humidity spreading across the country. What do you do to beat the heat? One thought, whip up an Orange Julius…
Do you remember those wonderful orange drinks called Orange Julius when you were a kid (or perhaps before you were born, depending upon who’s reading this) – they were the highlight of trips to head to Sears as a kid (tool section with dad). Girls don’t like the tool section – but they tolerate it just fine with the promise of an Orange Julius afterwards! Years later I found a recipe – my sister and I would make these all the time. One of us would make popcorn (pre-microwaves, yes, I am a dinosaur) – when you used to use a heavy pan to shake the kernels until they popped.
An Orange Julius is so easy if you have a blender. Just a few ingredients, the recipe calls for far too much sugar because orange juice is sweet all by itself, so feel free to omit the sugar, or just use a tablespoon which is more than plenty. I would say this makes two good servings.
Click HERE to check out the Orange Julius recipe on my site, it’s one of my top hits for sure – you’re welcome! How many of you are hopping in your car right now on the way to buy orange juice? The other few ingredients I’m sure you already have on hand. #lifeisgood
It’s summertime – enjoy!
🍊 Until next time…

Orange is my favourite colour! Could I use this photo as an inspiration to do a painting this winter?

Hi Francine, please feel free to do a painting of my image – would love to see it afterwards! If you could credit artfoodhome.com that would be awesome. I love orange too – it’s the best, that and warm light – heaven! Do you have a new website? Would love to see your work!
