We were heading back from Charlotte, NC yesterday and I saw “PEACE” painted on an overpass. How timely. Is there anything we should wish for more than this? Despite the heavy traffic the sentiment jumped out at me as something that is sorely needed (my opinion)… So thank you to whoever painted it, looks like it may have been there a while, but peace is always needed.

The lighting is perfection and all the French doors really make a statement. I love the shutters on either side of each door. Spectacular! I took this photo one beautiful January evening. We were chasing a sunset, trying to make it to the boat landing where the view is stunning, before the sun set completely. It happens so fast! I love the color, the blurriness of the horizon and the crispness of the nearby, very interesting plant. Wow, Charleston is beautiful!

I’ve never planted lupine. I’ve never actually seen it blooming in Maine because we always used to visit in September (after they bloomed), but here it is in Charleston! Blooming beautifully and for sale. I love to visit shops with beautiful plants, we have several that I can think of and each is a dream!

We took a walk a few nights ago and the sunset was so striking. Not as easy to see for us with homes and large trees but you couldn’t miss the bright orange and the fiery yellow. You can tell by the power lines and streetlights that this is an older neighborhood. The outline of the trees makes this a striking image.
