I love looking for house plans that will fit into established neighborhoods nicely. It’s important, especially if you live in a historic neighborhood. This plan fits the bill for sure, and it works perfectly on a narrow lot to boot! There is a front porch as well as a small screened (side) back porch…

Can you imagine looking out over the mountains in this spectacular house plan? The sunrise, the sunset, the fog, snow, rain, wildlife, birds, clouds, weather, birds and everything else there is to look at and enjoy would be so breathtaking. I can’t imagine a more peaceful place (well, a place near the water or the mountains – I would take either one without hesitation)! Take a peak at this wonderful plan…

Are you looking for a modern home that perhaps feels large but keeps a fairly modest footprint? What’s not to love about that? Three bedrooms, a private master suite and space to get away. Not to mention the outdoor spaces! You can rotate between the different areas. Imagine sitting outside watching the sun set, or the sun rise, or whatever it may be. #wow

I love the tudor style peaks in this plan, the high pitched roof and the use of brick. The dormers are a nice touch with windows that open out (would remind me of a Maine cottage we stayed at) – absolutely a delight! On the right side of the house is the garage – I love that you enter from the side vs. looking straight at garage doors. Nothing wrong with garage doors, but if I had my choice… this would be a preference.

This home has such nice lines and exudes elegance. This isn’t a large home, but it’s feels like it is. I love the details that make it appear as if it was built long ago. I happen to adore a porch without spindles. It’s not always possible if you’re several steps up – but this is a great height for no railings! Who doesn’t love an Idea House? We went to one years ago and had the best time ever. This plan is built by Lake and Land Studio as the 2023 Southern Living Idea House in Leipers Fork, Tennessee. (Yes! You can visit this house and see the real deal!) – It’s so helpful to see the interior images – they’re stunning! So if you haven’t seen this issue, it’s a treat – run out and pick one up now!

House plans are a favorite for many of you who visit this site. For the serious lookers – those of you planning to build in the near future, to the dreamers who think about moving, building, and what type of house plan would best suit them. Considerable time should be spent finding just the right plan for you, you’ll know when you find it, and if one is close, check with the architect/designer, most will make changes that can work for you. I know good house plans when I see them. This, of course, is a good one! I love the steep roof, the front porch, the scale of this home is nice – just wait until you “step inside”, it feels much larger than it’s square footage!

Pretty amazing, isn’t it? Believe it or not this is a smaller plan (not tiny, but not massive) that is designed to be open and spacious, making it feel like a much larger house. This is a one floor plan with a few cool bonuses… This would be the lakeside view – stunning, right? The front is very nice, but this is where I would be most of the time.

I have often dreamt of living in an A-Frame house plan. Growing up we had a few in our small town. They always fascinated me. It’s sleek and modern – Just wait until you see the indoor images! What you feel like you might lose in hangable art space you GAIN in the beauty of the outdoors filling your space with natural light, and the scene unfolding around you. It feels peaceful, like the best getaway one could think of. This A-Frame is probably one of the nicest I’ve seen.

What a fabulous plan, right? Wait until you see real life images – whoa! This house has oodles of charm. I’m using the architect’s image because it so truly shows how gorgeous this plan can be (garage is a separate plan). The deep porches, the French doors and transoms make this home feel as if it’s been here for a long time!

Meet the Sugarberry Cottage plan. This cottage plan exudes so much charm – First off, the porches will captivate you. It’s the perfect place to spend time, and if you notice, there is a wrap around porch to the left of the door. There is also a screened porch or sunroom on the right side of this plan. For me, I think between the porch and the sunroom/screened porch, this is where I would be a good bit of my day! This was the perfect plan for this established neighborhood. The interior is just as delightful as the exterior.

Charm, right? Pizazz! Love the door and the warm lighting (essential to me!). A welcoming porch to sit with your neighbors and catch up, read a book, or enjoy your coffee in peace. These architects create some fabulous Lowcountry plans, perfect for this area, or really anywhere. These plans fit nicely in an established neighborhood.
