The French Huguenot Church – Charleston, SC!

Charleston, SC is full of beautiful, historical churches. Each stunning in their own way!

This is the French Huguenot Church – the architecture… STUNNING! What history this church has! It was originally built around 1687, it has been destroyed several times, fire, shellfire during the War Between the States and a severe earthquake in 1886. This building was completed in 1845 – read the full history HERE!

Even the less beautiful things in life are kind of interesting…

I believe that even the uglier things in life are interesting. When I saw this I thought about something (somewhere?) I read recently. A gallery didn’t want to accept paintings from an artist if they had power lines in them. They said that it dates the painting. Hmmm. Interesting. I think we’re long away from not seeing any power lines – and personally, I like to see when artists paint them in, I think it adds a nice touch – gives the painting character!

Azaleas Blooming – January.

The azaleas began blooming in January. Normally you will see a few azalea’s blooming at an off time, but our entire street is filled with blooming azaleas, and it’s stunning! I just don’t recall it happening so early!

Enjoy the beauty while you can!

Charleston: Veranda and Sky!

Love the shadows from the palms on this beautiful and stately home. I also think the peek of blue sky is pretty cool!

Keep an eye out for the little things that make you smile – the little things really are the big things!

A church from Maine… in Charleston!

First of all… beautiful shadows, ha ha… they always catch my eye!

Fred and I were walking around downtown and we walked by this church, how interesting is this? It was established in 1682 in Kittery, Maine and moved to this site in Charleston, SC in 1699! (The congregation immigrated Charleston)!

Interested in the history of this church (it IS interesting!)?? Click HERE.

Sunday Paper…

“Sunday Paper” – a beautiful gate and, oh!, the landscaping!

It’s such fun to walk and be able to snap a photo or two (or 100) – no matter where you are, there are so many beautiful sites. I always regret not taking my phone, that’s when I see the most magical things, like a turtle the size of a quarter trying to walk across the Greenway (where people and bikes are moving rapidly) – luckily Fred saw it and helped the little guy across. Also saw a hawk dive into the ditch and come up with a critter 😳 – yes, there are some things I wish I did not see… Ugh!

Beautiful Gate – Charleston, SC

Charleston, SC Gate

The other day we headed downtown to walk, the weather was beautiful and we decided to cover some different territory! Along the way I snapped a few (😉) photos. This gate is magnificent isn’t it? Look at all the work that went into it. Truly a piece of art! It’s not easy to see from this photo, but the shadows are amazing, as I’m sure you can imagine!

Enjoy your Sunday!!

Mistletoe… a portrait.

Mistletoe Portrait

Mistletoe Portrait

It’s interesting the way that Mistletoe grows in trees. Usually high up and growing in a clump. Fred jumped up and pulled some out of a tree when we had stopped for lunch one day. Too sweet!

I hope this Saturday brings you smiles… in turn pass along a smile to someone you don’t know. It can make their day!

The Walnut Residence House Plan by Lake and Land Studio!

walnut-residence-lake-and-land

This is the Walnut Residence house plan by Lake and Land Studio. This plan is 3,271 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Pretty fabulous, isn’t it? With wide sweeping porches that wrap the perimeter of the majority of the house, this is a house plan that feels as if it gives you as much living space outside as it does inside. Can you imagine this plan built near the water? There is something fascinating, calming and rejuvenating about being near water, and to see it out your very windows would be a dream!

walnut-residence-main-lake-and-land

The main floor has a master bedroom, closet, and bathroom downstairs, always nice! An open living, dining, kitchen that offers plenty of space. It also has a nice laundry room where I would try to fit a nice, large stainless sink to plop my dog into when he needs a bath! This plan has many more wonderful features, and at the top of the list for me are the multiple porches. I love how they wrap around the house.

Click HERE for more information and to see the plan packet, more details on this plan!

The upstairs has two bedrooms, each with a bathroom, a storage room and a STUNNING OFFICE SPACE with a porch. It might be a little hard to work in such a nice space, ha ha. I can tell you, I would spend a good bit of my day in that space and on the porch. I love it!

I love the look of all of the Lake and Land Studio plans. Be sure to check out their website!

Morning Walk...

My husband and I were headed out on a walk and ran across this beautiful scene. Look at the reflections of the bird on that beautiful blue water AND the wonderful reflections of the trees in the water. Wow!

We are so fortunate to live in an area where there is such beauty. Of course, beauty can be found anywhere, you just have to keep your eyes open for it!

Have a great Saturday and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow!
