Another fabulous example of original, stunning, historical art on view at the Detroit Institute of Arts. I love how the woman has details so you see what she looks like yet some areas are left to your imagination – especially love the bottom right corner left more abstract. This coupled with the wall color + flowers in the background. WOW. Can you guess this artist? Take a minute… answer is below!

I last made these lemon squares back in 1999. Yes, the year I was born! I remember them because they were so ama-zing. I made them for a small dinner party and we ate them all. I’ve been thinking about these lately and wondered if they would still be good to me. Oh, WOW! Less butter and sugar than other recipes yet divine as can be. You’ll want to make this recipe! #perfectforsummer

Who couldn’t go for this right now? Doesn’t it look divine? Well, let me tell you, this was mine a while back (not recently) and I savored every single sip. It was utter perfection. What is it about coffee that is such a strong pull? The ritual involved in making it, pouring and perfecting (or in this case just sipping!) – the scent of it… for sure! It’s not the caffeine for me because I can’t drink much caffeine.

This is a fabulous, no-bake dessert that comes together in no time and will taste like it was a lot more work than it actually is! One bowl, a hand mixer, a measuring cup and a spatula and you’re good to go! This is divine – if you take it somewhere, bring a copy of the recipe because people WILL ask!

Gut feelings – always to be trusted. You just never know. Our older dog had been slowing down, then more recently had some medical issues that turned out to be cancer. This day he seemed out of sorts. So I picked him up and held him and we looked outside through our sunroom windows which has been our sanctuary.

This tiny flower (daisy family) is so bright and happy, despite its diminutive size. It’s especially pretty as the sun hits it. As soon as this plant gets a little larger I’ll be able to pop a few more blooms in the little vase (jar)! What are some good cutting flowers that you enjoy? Would love to hear!
