Guess the Artist (Detroit Institute of Arts) #30!

Breathtaking. If I had to use a single word to describe this painting – it is breathtaking, inspiring. You can feel the woman’s exhaustion. Yet her love and carry for her children, despite all odds is still very apparent. The elements in this painting keep your eye moving and keep you right there, stuck in their story. Amazing, yes – but can you guess the artist on this one? Answer is below…

Easter Cactus!

This used to be a Christmas cactus – actually, I think it was more of a Thanksgiving cactus – but this year (I put it in a new spot) it’s an Easter cactus. Just try to keep up! It’s such a vibrant color and the shadows are exquisite – with the far reaching limbs…

The Edenton House Plan (SL-2042) by J. Wright Home Design for Southern Living!

The Edenton House Plan by J. Wright Home Design for Southern Living

I love the lines of this house. It’s welcoming, it’s fresh and modern yet it would be difficult to tell if this is an immaculately kept older home or a new build. Each element compliments the other so nicely. The inside was designed so thoughtfully. Great plan (and fabulous architectural illustration!)

Tried this ray of sunshine, I am a convert…

How happy is this? After (finally) purchasing a Scrub Daddy that i’ve heard so much about, but wasn’t going to give in to the cuteness – I had to try it out. I mean, don’t say you don’t like something if you’ve never tried it, right? I bought – I tried – I am a convert!

A New Asparagus Pasta Dish – WHOA!

Asparagus is out of the world right now – we’ve been eating it all year long, but right now.. #PERFECTION Time to make another veggie pasta. You can mix the veggies up daily and it’s always so different. I’ve been making our asparagus pasta recipe for a few years now and after having some leftover mushrooms (all but two mushrooms in a package) it was time to change things up – plus I added another veg that took this over the top. This was delicious and QUICK!

Isn’t this a fabulous painting? I can’t praise the Detroit Institute of Arts enough, to be able to visit and view painting (and more) that truly takes you back in time is a gift. This one is no exception. By chance, do you know who the artist is? *Signature has been erased so it’s not too easy to guess* – let me know if you know! #IYKYK

Modern Farmhouse + Loft Plan by Prim Haus!

Modern Farm & Country II + Loft House Plan by Prim Haus!

Prim Haus is known for their fabulous house plans and this is no exception. While I do love a traditional plan I also love a modern plan. I would love to have this plan in the mountains (or by the water), can you imagine? The amount of detail is over the top.

The Perfect Deviled Eggs Just in Time for Easter!

I’m always on the lookout for a new recipe to try. Many of my recipes I adore, but every once in a while I need to switch it up a little. I’m always thinking “What if I find a BETTER recipe?” I love MY RECIPE for Deviled Eggs. Nothing elaborate, they’re just plain perfection. But I was boiling eggs for a salad, then thought, hmmm, curious to try a different recipe just to see – so…

Guess the Artist (Detroit Institute of Arts) #28!

What an impressive painting, right? There are several plein air artists who I know that came to mind when I saw this painting. Some of the other paintings were WOW as well – absolutely mind blowing. What a gift to be able to visit a museum and see such beautiful work. What a great day it was… Can you guess the artist?

One way to scroll less and think more…

Apologies, some of you (subscribers) may have seen this post inadvertently pop up on Tuesday. Grrr, it wasn’t supposed to so please erase it from your mind and pretend it’s new! 🆕😬

Of course there are many ways to scroll (on your computer/tablet/device) less and think more, but this is a fun one. You don’t realize how “in the zone” you get while doing a jigsaw puzzle. You go from thinking about everything to thinking only about what you’re focused on and let me tell you, your brain needs that relief!
