Carson House Plan by Allison Ramsey Architects!

How sharp is this? Clocking in at under 1,000 square feet – this plan is fabulous. If you aren’t in need of large square footage this plan maximizes space brilliantly. It’s such a good looking plan whether done in shingles (as shown on their website, wow!) or in wood siding. Absolutely gorgeous, the inside is just as spectacular!

A Frenzy of Color in Charleston, SC!

Charleston, South Carolina is alive in a frenzy of vibrant colors right now. The azaleas are beginning to bloom prolifically adding to the color from the camellias, tulip trees where the blossoms have just recently made a transition into bright green leaves and a host of other blooming things. Early spring is my favorite part, temps can still be cool (but can also be warm). Like most of the country, some days we experience both.

Spring is definitely in the air!

Spring is definitely in the air here in Charleston, South Carolina. Our winters are lovely and aren’t freezing cold for the most part. Some days are spring like, (as I write this for example), then it’ll turn chilly for a few days. Spring in our area is like fall elsewhere. Our leaves drop like crazy! On the plus side, the cardinals are back! Along with a few other (unidentified) birds that are gorgeous!

The Whites Bend House Plan by C3 Studio!

Whites Bend House Plan by C3 Studio

Wouldn’t this be a wonderful plan to build in the mountains of North Carolina? In an idyllic nature setting overlooking mountains and woods – I think this would be stunning. I would have it blend into the landscape so as to not take away from the natural beauty of the setting. This plan is larger than it looks, so there is a lot of room for living!

This recipe IS a winner! #vegpasta

After spending a considerable amount of time and money on a recipe that wasn’t great – actually neither of us even liked it despite loving all the ingredients.. we opted for something healthy, tasty but without a lot of ingredients (or work!) This is an old favorite. We have always eaten it as a meatless meal (we like to have several every week), but there wasn’t a lot of pasta so we opted for a…

Guess the Artist (Detroit Institute of Arts) #25!

Isn’t this a beautiful painting? Do you recognize it? Do you know who the artist is? Breathtaking! Take a moment (or a while) and guess who, feel free to comment in the comment section or on social media (FB/Instagram – links on this website). Do you know your art history? I am not exceptional at it, but from doing this I am learning plenty. Some of you really know your stuff and it’s so impressive. Even wrong guesses are impressive to me! Give it a whirl…

Is it a tulip or a tree? Yes, it is!

I love these trees. We live in an older neighborhood and we have several of these “tulip trees”. The blooms are very tulip-like, but once the flower petals fall off green leaves shoot out and it becomes what you see the rest of the year, a pretty green tree. We have Spanish moss in trees in this area (which is what you see above).

When Dinner Prep Becomes a Food-Mood Board

I was getting ready to make dinner, I had just washed the asparagus and had them drying on a towel with a few grape tomatoes. I have a habit of pulling out all the ingredients before I start the process – then it hit me… This should be a mood board! Designers have mood boards of the samples of fabric and materials they’re using on a project. So here is my mood board.

Guess the Artist (Detroit Institute of Arts) #24!

Some of you may recognize this painting – or the artist who painted it? I love the shadows in the landscape, the horses, the camaraderie amongst the men. The view in the distance is so interesting. I wonder who painted this? Ok, well, I know – do you? Comment on social media or comment below with your answer. If you’re frustrated and it’s not coming to you, read on for the answer! Note the signature was altered on the painting so it wasn’t obvious.

Another “Pretty in Pink” Post – I am obsessed!

I love flowers. Love them! They are bright and happy and make me smile. What a nice little pick me up during the week, (and yes, a photo counts!) I took this photo a while back when I was in Michigan. This is one of my dad’s rose bushes. The man has a green thumb just like his mom had. (🙌dad!) I love that my mom has little vases of roses everywhere. Next to the bed, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in the living room. So pretty and such a nice touch!

Happy Valentine’s Day – A perfect vignette!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Isn’t this the prettiest vignette? All the reds and pinks pulling it together nicely. I love the camellias in the glass bowl (so beautiful), and the light pink (large!) tulips in the background. The plates, napkins, silverware, glasses – all of it quite a delight! We popped into…
