This is the Thaxton Residence house plan by Lake and Land Studio. This plan is approximately 1,860 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. What a great plan if you live on the water! The sky was clear as we left out for our walk – then all of a sudden it looked like cotton puffs in the sky. Just one section of sky and the rest remained clear. I thought all those puffy clouds looked so interesting with the very winter looking tree.
Tulips can be so dramatic, they’re one of my absolute favorites – especially when the light is shining through them! They have such personality – you never know exactly what they’re going to do… This was a tall bunch and I figured they would stand straight and tall at dark and then with time open up and reach out like many of them do. Philip Barter – a Maine artist that is not afraid of color. He uses bold, dynamic shapes to give his paintings a signature touch. You can spot one of his paintings immediately. This is such a happy Maine painting!

Philip Barter was born in Boothbay Harbor, Maine in 1939 and has always had an interest in art. He studied with Spanish abstract expressionist Alfonso Sosa in California in the 1960’s, and also with Fritz Rockwell after returning to Maine. He was influenced by their use of bold form and color. Since the time that Philip started exhibiting in the 1960’s, his work has been shown in major museums and collections world-wide, and can be seen exhibited in galleries in and around Maine.

This is the 2013 Coastal Living Showhouse by Our Town Plans. It’s a beauty, isn’t it? This plan accommodates large families with ease – 4,092 square feet with 4 bedroom and 4.5 bathrooms – This is one of those plans that will always be a classic. As I write this (and schedule it to publish) – it’s a cloudy and gray day in Charleston (which I tend to love) – So I thought I would peruse my photos from our last visit to Maine – and pull up an equally gray day. Although there are so many interesting and bright colors that pop – a gray day is still beautiful! Last year we had many foggy days which kept the temps cooler which we were happy about (especially since when we left Charleston it was very steamy).
You can barely see Manana Island but if you look you will see it. Thick fog. One minute you can see clearly and *POOF* the next minute everything is gone. Too cool!
Enjoy the gray days, it makes you appreciate the sunshine that much more! Time is passing so quickly… tomorrow is March 1! Can you believe it?
