Palm Shadows!

Bright blue sky, a wonderful historic home and a tall palm leaving graceful shadows. To me, a shadow is sometimes as interesting as the subject giving off the shadow. Especially on sidewalks and entryways – there are intricate gates that give off stunning shadows. Be on the lookout! 👀

Wishing you a happy Saturday!

The 924-3 house plan by Truoba for Houseplans.com!

924-3 Houseplan for Houseplans.com (Truoba)

This is the 924-3 house plan (Houseplans.com) by Truoba. A sleek modern small space a well thought out floorplan that includes storage. (AHHH! Storage!) They show the exterior with several different finishes, each gives the exterior a very unique look. Small porches on front and back and a nice covered porch along the side of the house.

I like modern design and I think this plan has nice lines to it!

The interior has an open Living/Dining/Kitchen with access to the covered porch. There is also a nice storage room with washer/dryer – a handy location! The master bedroom is off in the back corner and the guestroom is beside the living room, and although small, is perfect for a guest room or an office/studio with a daybed or similar.

A WOW Sky

fullsizeoutput_2326

The color of this sky was surreal! The deep blue against the terra cotta roof and the light colored chimney. The contrast caught my attention. When we’re downtown walking I keep trying to sneak in photos and keep up the pace. It’s not easy, but some things I just cannot pass by without taking a photo!

A short post for today – photos this week – Have a great day and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow!

Do you see what I see?

fullsizeoutput_2325

We were walking downtown and Fred spotted this cat. Did you notice it high atop the shrubs? I walked right past it, of course it was taller than me, so that’s probably why I didn’t see it. What a life this cat has! It seems to be a people watcher, ha ha…

The Early Cape One House Plan by Classic Colonial Homes!

This is the Early Cape One house plan by Classic Colonial Homes! This plan is 1,800 square feet with 400 square feet of optional for a living space or small apartment above the garage. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The exterior is classic cape style, good design is forever. This view shows the front of the house and a little portion of the garage behind it. I do love when the garage is located behind the house!

The main floor has a kitchen, dining, living space with a bedroom or study and a bathroom. This plan is perfect if you want to start out using the master bedroom (upstairs) and then when stairs get difficult move to the lower level with everything near by.

I wonder if a teeny powder room could fit underneath the stairs, which would allow you to close off the bathroom door near the breezeway, possibly fitting a stackable washer/dryer  in the downstairs bathroom somewhere? Just a thought…

The upstairs space includes the master bedroom/bathroom, and nice closet space. The washer/dryer is also located upstairs. There is a smaller guest room on this same floor and another bathroom. I would definitely consider the optional space above the garage! How convenient would that be? Art studio? Guest room?

I love the look with the garage – it’s so New England! Especially with that wonderful breezeway!

Geranium in the Spotlight

On way out the door the light on the geranium caught my eye. Truly a geranium in the spotlight! I grabbed my phone and snapped a photo and off we went. Later I saw that the background was black. Cool! It really makes the geranium stand out!

Whew, time flies… can you believe it’s already the second week in June? That’s crazy! I hope you find some time to enjoy your summer!

Charleston Photo: Happy Sunday!

Charleston, SC architecture is stunning. Many of these homes are very old. I love the patina of the exteriors, the intricacies of the gates, the scale of things… so grand! Can you imagine what it was like several hundred years ago building homes so detailed and so extremely large? Impressive to say the least!

Happy Sunday!

Water Lilies – No Filter…

I took a photo of some Water Lilies while visiting a local garden center/nursery. Ah, they have beautiful flowers and plants. There is usually someone directing traffic in and out it’s that crazy. It was a very bright day, so no filter was used on this photo, the flowers don’t look real. The lily pads do, but not the flowers. It was stunning!

Happy Saturday!

The Book House – Deforest Architects!

The Book House – Deforest Architects

I usually post a house plan on Thursday, but every once in a while I’m going to start posting stunning homes that I have run across online. I will be featuring some top notch architects/designers, so be on the lookout!

Introducing, the Book House by Deforest Architects. I’m only including a few photos to taunt you, there are many on their stunning (and full of information) website! Be sure to check them out. It’s easy to get lost in their beautiful website!

The Book House was a remodel project of the entire house for two avid readers and their dogs (you’ve got to see the dogs!) – I love the modern details and the steel windows and doors. Especially nice when you have a view, and do they ever! You should see the view from the bedroom! I think that the steel windows compliment this house so nicely.

Gorgeous, right? I can picture myself on that chaise, book in hand… or on the sofa looking out at a stunning view, check it out from another view…

Yes, those “windows” are doors that open to the outside bringing the fresh air in. The back of this home is as beautiful as the front. Jaw dropping… Beautiful!

Check out links for more information from Deforest Architects, so many beautiful projects that they’ve taken on from around the country, you just have to see to believe:
