Wysteria, plentiful here in Charleston, SC. The aroma that drifts through the air is enticing. If you’re walking down the street it will stop you in your tracks and make you search for where the heaven scent (pun intended) is coming from! Wysteria is a vine (that you need to keep in check). I was walking through our back room late in the afternoon. I saw the violets on a little table near the sun, happy as can be – I noticed the shadow of one of them against the wall. It was dark and vibrant. This photo was taken a few moments later. Much lighter, but I think it has more depth to it.

We have a palm tree in our backyard that popped up on its own. You see them all over the Lowcountry. I love the tropical flair they bring to the yard. They start just as a tropical growth, palmy looking more like a plant. They grow quickly, provide shade and the most wonderful relaxing sounds when there is the slightest wind. #itmakestheyardanoasis

Steeples everywhere… Charleston, SC has so many churches. Churches that have stood the test of time, that have gone through so much and have survived or brought back to life after a hurricane or earthquake over the years. #somuchhistoryhere This steeple is so striking with the palm and the stunning blue sky. Let me tell you the copper gutters that you see here are huge! This is one beautiful church!
