A Quick Daydream Vacation…

Sometimes it’s nice to get away. Somewhere different from where you are. If the weather is hot, then a cool location sounds wonderful. If it’s cool it would be nice to feel the sun shining. Cleaning out photos the other day I ran across this photo taken years ago at the Ritz Carlton – Amelia Island. We went for a few years at Thanksgiving and what a great time we had. We found a wonderful little Italian Continue reading “A Quick Daydream Vacation…”

Featured Artist: Mark Farina!

Monterey Bay – Hopkins Point II by Mark Farina 30×48″

Mark Farina. He paints all subjects – all are just beautiful. It looks like most of Mark’s work is plein air (painted from life – outdoors) – he’s able to catch the spontaneity of changing light/colors. Mark’s studio paintings have the same fresh feel to them, they aren’t overdone – which is no easy feat!

Looks like something in a movie…

Charleston, SC

I LOVE THIS PHOTO. Not sure why. It’s got so many things going on. Sometimes a quick snap can turn into something so visually interesting – something you could write many stories about… It looks like something in a scary movie to me… I think it’s the moon, the angle and the house that does it. Cypress Tree on the Panoramic Highway #10 by Nicholas Coley 40×40″ Oil

Nicholas Coley. Now this is a talented artist with a very cool story – don’t miss it! I love the perspective of his paintings – it’s a bit different from the norm and I think it’s so interesting. My emails back and forth with Nick and with his wife, Tracy, tell me one thing… these are good people. It’s not easy to make a living from selling paintings, but it doesn’t surprise me that Nick can do just that. His paintings speak to you – the paintings are large and bold – and each has a different feel – love the signature too! I wish him much success! Continue reading “Featured Artist: Nicholas Coley!”

Cruise bound – 11 years ago today.

Fred and I – 3/11/07

11 years ago today… ELEVEN! Where has the time gone? I remember it like it was yesterday. My parents came to visit from Michigan, and we went on a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines out of Charleston, SC – we had so much fun. We ate well, and they had Cooking Light (smarter options) available at each meal. Everything was fabulous!  Continue reading “Cruise bound – 11 years ago today.”
