My husband and I were downtown a few months ago, we walked out of a little shop on King Street and I saw these palms with the light hitting them so perfectly. Striking! I snapped a photo and saved it for today. So beautiful! Looking for some recipe inspiration for Easter, I have a few ideas…

A few wild storms blew through Charleston, SC a few weeks ago and whoosh, it was over. Nothing horrific, thankfully. However, what occurred after the storms subsided was breathtakingly beautiful. The blurriness would be from the raindrops. This color – I love it!

With all the uncertainty going on in the world right now perhaps you’re considering a smaller house. If so, this is a fabulous plan with wonderful porches that makes the square footage feel like so much more (weather permitting of course). To have a screen porch off of the living area is like having a little piece of Heaven! No compromise here, this is a beauty, let’s take a peek…

Distant Shores is a great escape from the everyday world. Do yourself a favor and give yourself a little bit of peace each day. Grab a good book and carve out some time just for you. Even if it’s only 15 minutes – it’s all good! It’s like meditating, but better!

Mary Pettis. She’s a fabulous artist and workshop instructor. Her work is breathtaking, she paints both plein air (outdoors) and in the studio. Just look at the breathtaking light in this scene. The fabulous tree that look like they’ve been there for so long, the fence and of course the crows. Isn’t this a striking painting?

One (of the many) things that I love about Allison Ramsey’s plans is the fact that they can fit into an existing neighborhood and blend seamlessly. This home can easily look as if it’s been there for a long time and maintained meticulously. It’s important (to me) when building in an older neighborhood. I think you will love this plan (along with fabulous porches on the front and back)! It’s fabulous, let’s take a peek…

Spring is magical everywhere in the world, but springtime in Charleston brings a special kind of beauty. The scents wafting through the air are magical. Charleston has many large live oak trees, in this area they have Spanish moss hanging from their stately limbs, they also have Resurrection fern growing on the large branches. Talk about magical…

This plant is such a joy I cannot even begin to express how much I absolutely adore it. We planted a few in pots last year – around this time, they bloomed all summer long! Literally you do nothing but make sure they don’t get too dry (especially in a pot). Give them a nice drink of water when they look thirsty and they’re good!

It was a sunny, pretty day, first day of Spring when I made this pasta salad. The sun was warm and fresh ingredients sounded divine. So I whipped together this pasta salad, great served on a bed of arugula and spinach. Thankful my husband doesn’t mind standing outside and tending to the grill on days like today when the yellow pollen is wafting through the air.

Another great book by Kristin Hannah! I’m trying not to read all of her books at once, although it’s quite hard not to. I’ve got it down to every other book, but will have to move that to every third book. I just don’t want to be without one of her books! What an escape reading is!
