Lyn Asselta! An amazing pastel painter – her paintings have such depth and they are a powerful rendition of the subjects she is painting. She captures the movement of water, wind in the trees, beautiful sunshine on the snow, and so much more.

I love this simple yet classic garage with a covered area for parking or a patio. It’s a classic style with clean lines – it’s not fussy in appearance and adds just the right design element. A garage AND a small guest house. Perfect!

I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful memories. Growing up in Michigan we had the best time. Memories of sailing and most of all hanging out with friends who are still friends to this day (thank you social media)!

Patti Vincent. When I saw this painting my jaw dropped. I really love all of Patti’s work, but these plein air paintings just grab me. What I love so much about this one is the color palette. It’s softer and fabulous and gives such a beautiful overall feel.

Well, Fall is upon is and I couldn’t be happier! The crispness in the air is appreciated with every breath. I can remember being thrilled it was Fall even when I was a little kid growing up in Michigan.

Okra. I don’t think I even heard of it until I moved to Charleston 30+ years ago. I tried it once. Slimy. Hmmm. Not awful tasting, but the consistency isn’t what I would prefer. I found that if you roast it you #skiptheslime Woohoo!

Brian Miller. A daily painter – serious dedication! So many paintings, all color palettes and subjects. This one spoke to me, I love it! It’s cool and funky and different!

Glorious! The arrival of fall like weather is nothing short of glorious to me. I am so excited for hot and humid weather to be on its way out! I am looking so forward to fresh air, cool breezes, open windows, flannel and polar fleece.
There, I said it. Ha… I am in my happy place when I can be *me* – born and raised in Michigan, here are a few of my fall memories…

Jim McVicker is a plein air artist living in California. He has a way of adding life to his paintings (perhaps because he paints from life vs. a photo?) whether outdoors or in the studio.

I love creating treats for Charlie, our Jack Russel with a history of pancreatitis. For years he’s only gotten his ultra low fat prescription dog food, and occasional piece of pasta or tablespoon of rice, a little no fat Greek yogurt and veggies of all kinds.
